A little about Uganda:

Uganda is located south of Sudan, East of Kenya, West of Democratic Republic of Cong and North of Tanzania.

Historically, the nation is predominately agricultural bringing together humble cultures firmly rooted on farming. The climate is awesome with weather condition favoring all activities Temperatures are generally warm through out the year with Highs of 28C and Lows of 19C The country is very peaceful with culturally warm and friendly. Roads and the health system is just ideal even for the mot sophisticated traveler.

Food stuffs cater for all vegetarians and non-vegetarians Security is one that you can depend on with content. Uganda is a country of adventure and offers a wide variety of activities and tours.

What to expect while in Uganda:

Your facilitator and hosts will make sure that you visit is not only peaceful but also fulfilling.

As far as your visit is concerned you should among others expect:

Among the crops planted include cassava, beans, vanilla, matooke (bananas), sweet potatoes. The animals reared include among others cows, goats the most practiced animal farming is piggery and poultry.

Matooke (banana) is the most predominant and favorite food grown and consumed. When you re in Uganda remember to ask you hosts to prepare you Uganda's favorite food in a traditional manner.

Kampala is the capital of Uganda and is also the Central Business District (CBD) of the nation. The city is centrally located making it the ideal point from which to start any tour or adventure in Uganda. Kampala is well equipped with all the services you would find in any major city in the world. Homestays in the WAKISO DISTRICT:

This is one of the most gifted districts of the country. Wakiso is unique and special at the same time. It combine both an urban setting with a number of attractions and also a rural setting with rich cultural foundations. The National airport is another place located in the district of Wakiso.

The Zoo, Beaches, the attractive Lake Victoria, Cultural sites, Markets ETC.

Our Village home stay facilitator together with our host families will work their best to ensure that you are well catered for. To make sure that your trip is fulfilled, make the best use of your time and visit all the wonderful places that we call Uganda.

VOLUNTEER WORK DURING YOUR VILLAGE HOMESTAY

Our activity managers will give visitors the opportunity to make an impact on the local communities at a grassroots level. Volunteering visitors will have a chance to interact with local groups and organizations working in community development including schools and health sector.

Regardless of the community you reach out to, you will be learning, experiencing while helping the people help themselves through your volunteer action.

COSTS:

Airport pick up by your host costs US$45.

The host homestay fees are paid in cash by guests on arrival to the host for a minimum period of one week. The amount payable by you or your family will be detailed in the booking email sent to you by village homestays once you have paid the deposit confirming your booking.

The cost per adult per day including all meals as listed below is just US$45. Children aged 5 to 13 are US$30:

  • Intermediate meals
  • Some Activities and advice on local attractions etc
